AUVSI New England participated in MassEcon Robotics Industry Roundtable at WPI Higgis House on October 15 2015. The Roundtable was moderated by Prof. Mike Gennert: Director of Robotics Engineering Program at WPI. The Panelists were: Tye Brady: Chief Technologist at Amazon Robotics Dan Theobald: CTO & Co-Founder at Vecna Russell Singleton: Senior Vice President of Research & Development at Medrobotics. The discussion included developing the state of Massachusetts as a powerhouse in robotics research and their use, especially in manufacturing, across the world. MassTLC's MassRobotics cluster was seen as an uber-incubator for the Commonwealth. 
AUVSI New England participated in MassTLC Cross-Border Innovation & Business Robotics Seminar,in Cambridge, MA on 14 October 2015. Canadian Robotics Innovation from 4 Canadian startups were presented. The startups were: B-TemiaExoskeleton for medical and military applications. RxRoboticsHumanoid robot used for pediatric pain management that helps children cope with medical procedures Polymer RoboticsMRI-Guided Robotic Surgery Redtree RoboticsChipset lets you easily connect sensors, actuators, components and other parts to the robot without the hassle of complicated circuits, specialized hardware or device drivers This was followed with a cross-border business panel with first-hand experience.
Exponent hosted approximately 30 AUVSI New England members at their impressive facility in Natick, MA on Septmber 24th 2015. The discussions began with an overview of Test Facilities and Capabilities at Exponent, which included details of their vehicle testing facility in Phoenix, AZ by Dr. Paul Verghese. Dr. Vijay Somandepalli discussed the various advanced Robotic systems Exponent had developed from the perspective of using commercial of the shelf (COTS) as the basis of their solution sets, achieving lower costs and faster time to market. AUVSI New England participated on a Robotics and Internet of Things (IoT) panel at IBM's Continuous Engineering Symposium in Boston, September 17th 2015. The event was well attended, had interesting and informative talks, and culminated in a cruise along the Charles.
