New England chapter had its annual member meeting hosted at WPI in Worcester.
Waseem Naqvi, President, AUVSI New England, discussed the status and progress of the chapters activities on behalf of its members.
Jeff Adams, Secretary, and Peter Wurman, Director and Chair of the Nomination committee, described the recent chnage in by-laws and the results of the election for the members of the Board of Directors.
The 2017 AUVSI New England election resulted in 8 members of the Board of Directors beginning a three year term of service. These members included 6 returning members and 2 new members.

Following the the Chapter business section, Rachel Leblanc, Director AUVSI New England, and Assit Vice President WPI, introduced the PracticePoint: Advancing Healthcare through Cyber-physical Systems new commercialization enabler and alliance.
Dr. Gregory Fischer, Director of PracticePoint, WPI, described the new innovation center's focus on smart and secure medical devices that interact with the physical world to improve the promise of patient-centric care. He commented on how the talent and capacity to lead the growth of an advanced medical device/cyber-physical systems economy is already here in Massachusetts, particularly in Worcester, and how WPI the perfect place for this kind of creative disruption in the healthcare industry to take place.
